LAPACAZO SANDOVAL, CO-FOUNDER & COO

Lapacazo Sandoval is the co-founder and COO of myNewYorkeye.

She began her entertainment training at the famed William Morris (William Morris Endeavor) mail room before making the transition to public relations. As an experienced publicist in the entertainment industry she has experience in theatre (La MaMa ETC and The Brooklyn Academy of Music ) and has one theater producing credit, FREDERICK DOUGLASS NOW by Roger G. Smith. Under the tutelage of the late Ellen Stewart, creator of La MaMa ETC and recipient of the MacArthur "Genius Grant," that work lead to a position at BAM.

Making the transition to personal publicity she helped launch the career of award winning solo performer John Leguizamo. That work, for a then unknown NYC artist, caught the attention of film producers Martin Bregman ("Dog Day Afternoon" & "Scarface"), Michael Bregman ("Carlito's Way") and Cheryl Boone Isaacs (President of the Academy of Arts and Sciences) who held the position of executive Vice President of world-wide publicity at Paramount Pictures. The relationship with the three seasoned industry players made the transition to unit film publicity (IATSE Local 600) possible and provided her the opportunity to work with some of the most influential motion picture studios and A level talent above-and-below the line.

As an entertainment journalist and television and film critic, her work is seen weekly in the New York Amsterdam News and has recently been featured across the U.S. via the wire service, Trice Edney wire news, which services over 250 newspapers.

She's also co-creator (with Art Shrian) of the multimedia children properties Boogaloo and Lady, The Smiling Pitbull.
